EAST BHAM OVER-60's B A

Welcome to our Association Website !
The Association was formed in 1988 to provide a mid-week programme of Crown Green bowling activities for men and women in the over 60 age group.

Initially, membership was restricted to a few clubs whose location was within a 5 miles radius of the Fox & Goose Public House in the east of the city. Its popularity has grown such that the Association now accepts membership from clubs in all areas of Birmingham and surrounding districts.

This easy to navigate website is the main communication tool for the Association. Club Officials and individual bowlers can find news, fixtures and results first hand and much more.

If you represent a club that is interested in joining our Association, or have any information you think is worthy of inclusion on the website, please contact the Association Secretary on this link.

DAVE CALTHORPE - OVER 75's CHAMPION 2018 (sponsored by Mr Ken Rose)
In a tight final Dave Calthorpe just got the better of Maurice Haycock by a 21-16 margin. Both players, from NIFO, gave a fine exhibition of close bowls on a blisteringly hot day. REPRESENTATIVE MATCH v S&W BIRMINGHAM
EBOS Over 60's lost a well contested match by 28 shots. Who knows? Maybe the heat took it's toll on our players, but not to take anything away from an experienced S&W team who were just a bit better than us on the day. Many thanks to our host venue Ward End Cons for the use of their green and Club facilities. (news released on Tue 3/7/2018)
SENIOR & JUNIOR CUPS ROUND 3 (CONSOLATION ROUND 2)
The results of the previous round and the draws and venues for the next round to be played on 25th July 2018 can be viewed in the Cups/Merits section. Please check if your green is to be used as a neutral venue. (news released on Mon 25/6/2018)
MERIT DRAWS (PRELIMINARY ROUND)
The draws and venues for the Over 75's, Individual and Pairs Merits can be viewed in the 'Cups/Merits' section under the sub-heading Merit Draws. (news released on Fri 25/5/2018)
REPRESENTATIVE MATCH v HEART OF ENGLAND
After eight matches at both venues it looked as though our team were going to slip to a narrow defeat. However, a strong rearguard action in the final four matches at both venues saw EBOS gain a victory by sixteen shots. Well done to everyone. Special thanks to the host home venue, a magnificent surface at the home venue provided by Steve Blakeman and first rate hospitality made it a match to be enjoyed by everyone. We look forward to playing the Heart of England League in 2019. Full results can be seen in the 'Representative Team' section.

SAFEGUARDING OFFICER
In January 2018 the BCGBA passed a rule that all clubs must have a 'Safeguarding Officer' by March 2019. Failure to comply with this rule may result in the offending club being reprimanded, fined, suspended or expelled as the BCGBA see appropriate.
All vital information can be found on the following website: http://www.safeguardingbowls.org/
W&WCBA will be monitoring the situation with all clubs to ensure that they have the minimum requirements by March 2019 which are:
* to have a named, trained Safeguarding Officer.
* to work with W&WCBA Managers to develop Safeguarding Policies and Procedures.
All Safeguarding officers will be required to have a 'DBS Certificate' and attend a 'Safeguarding Awareness Course'. For more information on safeguarding matters email W&W CBA at: welfare@wwcba.com
