Welcome to our Association Website !
The Association was formed in 1988 to provide a mid-week programme of Crown Green bowling activities for men and women in the over 60 age group.

Initially, membership was restricted to a few clubs whose location was within a 5 miles radius of the Fox & Goose Public House in the east of the city. Its popularity has grown such that the Association now accepts membership from clubs in all areas of Birmingham and surrounding districts.

This easy to navigate website is the main communication tool for the Association. Club Officials and individual bowlers can find news, fixtures and results first hand and much more.

If you represent a club that is interested in joining our Association, or have any information you think is worthy of inclusion on the website, please contact the Association Secretary on this link.

Chairman's message 19/4/2021
The 2021 EBOS league season will commence on Tuesday 18 May. All fixtures for the season are set out on this website and are accessed by clicking on the relevant tabs at the top of this page.

As you will see as you explore this new website the league is now slightly smaller in size than it was in 2019, due almost entirely to COVID. There are now 68 teams competing in 6 Divisions as compared with the 80 teams that competed in 7 Divisions in 2019.

In all other respects however the EBOS league is unchanged in terms of its aims and its ethos. It will continue to be a competitive, albeit friendly league, with 2 teams being promoted and relegated from each Division at the end of the season. As before there will be no demotions from Division 6.

Due partly to COVID, but also in large measure to the retirement of 'Mr EBOS' aka Gerry Harper, who is much missed, your Management Team have had to put a great deal of work into making a number of technical and operational changes to the management of the league, ranging from registration procedures to the recording of match results, and of course taking on board the imperatives of adhering to BCGBA COVID requirements. We will be sending out information to your delegates regarding the latter in the next few days.

We hope that you will all be able to adjust to these new systems and procedures as the season progresses and we will provide a steady flow of relevant information over the coming weeks. Should you have any queries however do not hesitate to contact a relevant member of the Management Committee whose contact details are attached.

We wish you an enjoyable and successful EBOS season in 2021 and look forward to having a face-to-face meeting with delegates by the end of June to review how things are progressing and to look forward to the future.

David Johnson - Chairman
