Welcome to our Association Website !
The Association was formed in 1988 to provide a mid-week programme of Crown Green bowling activities for men and women in the over 60 age group.

Initially, membership was restricted to a few clubs whose location was within a 5 miles radius of the Fox & Goose Public House in the east of the city. Its popularity has grown such that the Association now accepts membership from clubs in all areas of Birmingham and surrounding districts.

This easy to navigate website is the main communication tool for the Association. Club Officials and individual bowlers can find news, fixtures and results first hand and much more.

If you represent a club that is interested in joining our Association, or have any information you think is worthy of inclusion on the website, please contact the Association Secretary on this link.

Communication from Association Secretary to member clubs 15th March 2021
Spring is on the way and the cold wind reminds us that the bowls season cannot be far away!

Your committee continue to hold their Zoom meetings . We hope that you are all well and have managed to access your vaccinations.

After prolonged discussions and consideration of all information currently available we believe that it is possible to have local competitive play this year.
We now have concrete proposals to make about the oncoming season. They are of course dependent on directives from government and the British Crown Green Bowling Association, and we know that we may have to make changes if the Coronavirus becomes problematic.

At this point in time clubs have entered 72 teams. We propose to have 6 divisions with 12 teams in each division. The reason for this is that your committee have tried very hard to ensure that teams that won promotion at the end of the 2019 season are able to benefit from bowling at a higher level, and teams are not playing below the level of expectation at the end of the 2019 season. The divisions are now on this website (see below).

All things being equal we will be able to start play on Tuesday 18th / Wednesday 19th May. This late start date and our proposed league structure make the timescale for our season very tight, with a finish in the second week in October. If clubs are unhappy with this we suggest that they make an agreement with their final opponents to bring those games forward. Please remember to let the secretary know if you are changing a date.

Your committee would like to hold a face to face AGM when we are allowed to do so because we want to discuss with clubs how our association is to move forward in the future.

Finally, please could your club confirm receipt of this email and your intentions regarding your participation in the 2021 season by March 29th.
